Last year when I made this dressing for my YouTube video, it became one of the most popuar Thanksgiving dressing recipes. Some people like cornbread dressing and some people like wild rice dressing–so why not combine them together for a scrumptous dressing recipe?  I then added Louisiana crawfish to create my BEST Crawfish Cornbread Wild Rice dressing recipe with Louisiana crawfish, cornbread and wild rice.  Truly, an amazing Thanksgiving  dressing or Thanksgiving crawfish cornbread stuffing recipe! Make Ahead Dressing So Perfect For Thanksgiving


Thanksgiving menu means lots of cooking so always make a list and plan ahead!   A few days before I make the cornbread and store in zip lock bags.  I also cook the wild rice ahead of time and do all my chopping.  The day before I put it all together and refrigerate to cook the next day.  Actually, the recipe is so simple, you can put it together Thanksgiving morning.  

Add Louisiana Crawfish To Your Favorite Dressing

Did you ever think about adding Louisiana crawfish to your favorite dressing?  This Cornbread Wild Rice Dressing is absolutely fabulous and when I added Louisiana crawfish it became the talk of my Thanksgiving menu!  This is one of my favorite dressing recipes as it includes wild rice and cornbread giving the dressing lots of flavor.  However, if you have your favorite dressing, just add Louisiana crawfish and I promise you will get rave reviews!  It’s a twist on your traditional cornbread dressing that you will really love!

Crawfish Cornbread Wild Rice Dressing from Gulf Coast Favorites cookbook

Prepare cornbread and wild rice ahead of time and then put dressing together while your turkey is roasting.  Great flavor combination of nutty wild rice, cornbread and sautéed vegetables jazzes up this savory dressing.  

Makes 16 servings (2/3 cup)

2 (6-ounce) packages long grain and wild rice mix
1 (8 1/2-ounce) box cornbread mix
1 egg
1/3 cup skim milk
1 cup chopped celery
2 green bell peppers, seeded and chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 (16-ounce) package Louisiana crawfish tails, rinsed and drained
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
1 (16-ounce) can chicken broth
1 bunch green onions, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

1. Cook wild rice according to package directions, omitting butter and salt.  
2. Prepare cornbread according to package directions using egg and milk.  Crumble cornbread.  
3. In nonstick large skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray, sauté celery, green peppers, and onion until tender.  Transfer to large bowl and combine with all ingredients. 
4.  Transfer to prepared dish.  Bake 45 minutes
