Crawfish Etouffee Perfect To Highlight For Heart-Healthy February

Whether you needed a recipe for the Super Bowl, a romantic dinner, your Mardi Gras menu or just to be a February heart healthy recipe, my Crawfish Etouffee from Gulf Coast Favorites cookbook fits the profile. I admit my Crawfish Etouffee might be one of my most popular crawfish recipes I created.  Why is this recipe so special?

Crawfish Etouffee Diabetic Friendly Crawfish Recipe

Crawfish is a lean protein and crawfish tails are a great way to get a meal on the table.  Usually an etouffee includes lots of butter  and/or oil and is not healthy.  What’s great about my recipe is this easy crawfish recipe tastes just as good and it is a diabetic crawfish etouffee.  I am all about flavor so no worries about not having that great Louisiana flair.  I start with a roux mixture with all the holy Trinity seasonings and adding Louisiana crawfish tails for the finishing touch. For a bonus if you serve the crawfish etouffee recipe over brown rice, you’ll boost your nutritional content.  Did you know that brown rice has 3 g fiber and white rice has less than 1 g. Easy substitution.

Easy Crawfish Etouffee Recipe Makes Last Minute Meals

On those busy days when you don’t have time to cook, here’s your go-to recipe.  This crawfish etouffee recipe from Gulf Coast Favorites whips up in minutes.  Take short cuts by buying chopped green peppers, onion, and green onions.  My sister doesn’t like cooking rice and buys rice that you cook in a bag.  Within 20 minutes, you can have dinner on the table.  For a treat make my 2-ingredient buttery tasting Pull Apart Bread to soak up the etouffee gravy. Make a salad and dinner is done! A little secret – I only included a few Cajun recipes in my men’s health cookbook, Guy’s Guide To Eating Well.  Crawfish Etouffee is easy, diabetic and Cajun so it made the cut!
